Infinix has finally announced that it is going to start making leather that can be painted with light. This is said to be the world’s first. The technology works when ultraviolet light interacts with the smartphone’s back cover. This gives Infinix users new and flexible ways to show off their style and mood through their phones.
This first-of-its-kind invention is a big step forward for Infinix’s technology and sets a new standard for leather back covers for phones around the world.

“Infinix wants to make smartphones look better by using new materials and bright new colours,” the company says. Users who use Future Light-Painting Leather technology can enjoy gratifying colour changes and unique patterns made by shading light on the back cover of their smartphone.
According to Manfred Hong, the Senior Product Director of Infinix, “it gives our users a new way to connect with their phones and show off their personalities.”
Users will be able to paint with light soon. With ultraviolet light, leather technology makes colour changes also they can reverse. Infinix used photochromic polymers to make the leather look different when it is exposed to ultraviolet light.
When this happens, the molecular structure of the polymer changes, which causes the colour to change. When people bring their smartphone inside, the leather goes back to its natural brown colour.

The smartphone doesn’t have to do anything extra to make the colours change. While leather is only available in one colour, it will give phones with two or more colour switches a new look.
As a result of this new feature, users will be able to use light to paint their phones and make different designs on the back cover, giving them almost limitless ways to personalize their phones.
